About China
China is the world most populated country with the population of 1.35 billion people. As from 2013, China has become the world's largest importer and exporter. The Chinese currency is RMB(Renmenbi), but commonly spoken as Kuai. Mandarin Chinese is the official language of China.
Chinese culture is very different from Western culutre. For example, the concept of "losing face" in Chinese culture is very important and something in the Western culture might offend the Chinese people and make them "lose face". Businessmen doing business with Chinese people should be considerate and careful with the cultural differences.
Beijing
Beijing, also known as Peking, is the capital of China. It is a cultural and historical city. There are many touristic places to visit in Beijing, such as, the Great Wall of China, the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City etc. Beijing is a good place to shop for antique objects, ivory carving, jade, pearl and silk. Bejing cuisine is famous for Roasted Duck and Beijing street foods is famous for local delicacies like roasted insects.
Shanghai
Shanghai is China's biggest city. It is a modern city of towering skyscrapers mixed with western style buildings. Shanghai is also known as the "oriental Paris". There are various glamorous shopping centers and fabulous bars and clubs for people who enjoy nightlife. Shanghai is an important transport hub of China. You can easily find frequent flights and trains to go around.
Guangzhou
Guangzhou or historically known as Canton, is located on the south coastline of China and has accessibility with Hong Kong and Macau. It is an excllent port and hence its economy prospers rapidly. In Guangzhou you can finds wholesales markets and suppliers for all kinds of products. Canton fair which is the largest trading fair in China, is held twice a year here. Guangzhou is also famous for its cuisine. The Cantonese foods is the original "Chinese foods" that is known in the west.
Yiwu
Yiwu is a small city and it is less than 3 hours away from Shanghai by high speed bullet train. It is the world's largest small commodity markets. Here you can find suppliers for jewelry, bags, toys, clothings etc. The people here are friendly and the city is equipped with hotels and convenient transports for businessmen.
Xiamen
Xiamen is a well-developed little city by the southeast coast of China. It is surrounded by many factories for stones, lightings, electronics, boats and yachts etc. Xiamen also holds annually the world's largest stone's fair. Xiamen is also famous for its touristic sites like Gulangyu Island, Botanical Garden and Hotspring Resorts. Xiamen is ranked the 6th among China's top 10 hottest tourist destinations.
Hong Kong
Hongkong is a special admistrative region of China. It is a major tourism and business destination for people around the world. Hong Kong is ranked the 3rd among the most important leading international financial centre, after London and New York City. The city has British influenced and it is a centre for modern architecture. Hongkong official spoken language is Cantonese and English. There are several international exhibitions and fairs throughout the year, such as Hong Kong Electronics Fair and Hong Kong International Lighting Fair. Hongkong is a shopping and eating paradise. You can find all sort of stuffs and foods here though the prices are considered high compared to China due to higher standard of living.
